On Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed scores of criminal cases that are now being investigated for treason by the state’s security agencies and prosecutors.
“As of today, 651 criminal proceedings have been registered regarding treason and collaboration activities of employees of prosecutors’ offices, pretrial investigation bodies, and other law enforcement agencies. In particular, more than 60 employees of the prosecutor’s office and the security service of Ukraine remained in the occupied territory and are working against our state.”

Iryna Venediktova, the Prosecutor General, and Ivan Bakanov, the director of the Security Service of Ukraine, were both removed on Sunday, according to Zelenskyy, who also cited increased worries about disloyalty in their workplaces.
“Such an array of crimes against the foundations of the national security of the state and the connections detected between the employees of the security forces of Ukraine and the special services of Russia pose very serious questions to the relevant leadership. Each of these questions will receive a proper answer.”
Since beginning a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, it has been 144 days. According to the UN, throughout that period, Russia launched more than 3,000 cruise missiles against inhabited regions of Ukraine, killing more than 10,000 civilians.
According to Zelenskyy, when fighting erupted in the area, Ukrainian security and law enforcement personnel collaborated with Russian authorities and passed sensitive information with occupying forces.
“I want to thank everyone who participated in this operation. It can truly be called self-purification.” Zelenskyy stated.
