WHO has identified five actions to minimize monkeypox

In the wake of an increase in monkeypox cases, the World Health Organization (WHO) has issued a list of five critical steps to take to prevent the disease. It was advised that countries be learned about monkeypox and be equipped to recognize it. The second step is to use public health techniques to prevent human-to-human transmission. The third step is to safeguard frontline personnel. The next steps are to use countermeasures such as antivirals and to speed up research.

Monkeypox has a clinical appearance similar to smallpox, a related orthopoxvirus infection that was proclaimed eradicated globally in 1980. Monkeypox is less contagious and causes less severe sickness than smallpox.

Fever, rash, and swollen lymph nodes are common symptoms of monkeypox, which can lead to a variety of medical issues.
