On Saturday, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla spoke with people from the Indian diaspora and Indian students studying in the United States. He said that because India has the most dynamic and vibrant democracy in the world, the voice of the nation is heard all over the world.
Mr. Birla visited Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology after arriving in Boston (MIT). There, he interacted with faculty members, resource people, and students.
In his interactions with Indian students and diaspora residents, Mr. Birla discussed the country’s development story and stated that the Indian diaspora is highly respected around the world because of their work ethics and culture, according to a release from the Lok Sabha Secretariat.
He added that when called upon in times of need, people of the Indian diaspora have always stepped forward to help both their native country and their host nation.
Speaking of India’s democracy, Mr. Birla claimed that it is the nation’s greatest asset and that it has accelerated the country’s development.
“Because of how dynamic and alive the Indian democracy is, India’s voice is heard around the world. Currently, when India talks, the world listens “he added.
The speaker also discussed policy changes for women’s empowerment, communication, and rural development.
Furthermore, he claimed that India’s rise as a centre of global manufacturing is being facilitated by its independence.
