Today, as it marks the Indian Air Force’s 90th anniversary celebrations, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari disclosed that the government has approved the creation of a weapon system branch for the commanders in the Force.
In a speech at the celebrations for the Indian Air Force Day, Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari said, “On this historic day, it’s my joy to declare that Government has approved the creation of a weapon system division for the officers in the Indian Air Force”.
The integration of Agniveers into the IAF was another issue he covered. He said, “We have revised our operational training method. This will ensure that every Agniveer has the abilities and knowledge to start a career in the IAF.
In December of this year, 3,000 Agniveer Vayus will start receiving instruction. This number will rise in the following years. The Agnipath program’s induction of air fighters into the Indian Air Force presents a challenge for all of us. It is also an opportunity for us to harness the potential of Indian youth and channel it toward service.
Later on in the day, up to 80 military planes and helicopters will take part in an Air Force Day fly past at the Sukhna Lake complex in Chandigarh. The Indian Air Force is expected to put on a fantastic performance as part of the festivities because to the diversity of aircraft at its disposal.
For the first time, the IAF has chosen to conduct its yearly Air Force Day parade and fly past outside the Delhi-NCR. President Droupadi Murmu and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will be present for the aerial performance above Sukhna Lake. On Air Force Day in 1932, the Indian Air Force (IAF) was formally founded.
