Totally 153 High Court Judges Were Appointed This Year And Many More To Come

According to information, officials have stated that, 153 judges have been appointed to the several high courts this year, and more appointments to the high court are expected in the coming days.

Six new judges joined the Bombay High Court on Friday. It is believed that Dipankar Datta, the Chief Judge of the Bombay High Court, will be elevated to the Supreme Court in the near future.

If he were to be appointed, the Supreme Court would have an working capacity of 30. The Chief Justice of India is one of the 34 justices that may serve on the Supreme Court (CJI). The administration also plans to begin the hiring process for the new Chief Justice of India, most probably this week or perhaps next week.

The Union law minister is obligated by protocol to inform the CJI in writing of their successor. Justice Uday Umesh Lalit, the Chief Justice of India, will retire on November 8. Justice D Y Chandrachud is the most senior judge following the Chief Justice of India.

The CJI frequently selects the judge who has the highest qualifications to succeed them. Justice Chandrachud will take over as the 50th Chief Justice of the United States in compliance with custom and tradition.
