Manish Sisodia, the deputy chief minister of Delhi, made the stunning accusation on Monday that a CBI agent committed suicide after being pressed to fabricate a case against the AAP politician. Sisodia also questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the excessive pressure placed on officers.
“A CBI officer was under pressure to fabricate evidence against me. He committed suicide because he was unable to handle the emotional stress. At a press conference, Sisodia stated, “I want to question the PM why officers are under such intense pressure that they adopt such drastic measures.“
Jitendra Kumar, a deputy legal adviser for the CBI, is suspected of committing suicide last week at his south Delhi home, according to police.
According to a senior police officer, a crime squad and a forensic mobile team were dispatched to the scene after receiving a call at the Defence Colony police station at around 6.45 am on Thursday regarding a man who had been discovered hanging.
After filing a FIR to look into any anomalies in the creation and implementation of the Delhi Excise Policy, which was released in November of last year, the CBI had last month searched Sisodia’s Delhi home.
