According to sources, Nitish Kumar, the Chief Minister of Bihar, transferred Kartikeya Singh, also known as Kartikeya Singh from the law to the sugarcane ministry on Wednesday due to the rising scandal surrounding his alleged involvement in a criminal case.
A warrant for Kartik Kumar’s arrest was issued by the Danapur sub-divisional court after he was accused of kidnapping in a case from 2014. Kumar had been replaced as the law minister by Shamim Ahmad, another RJD lawmaker, as stated by the State Cabinet Secretariat Department. Ahmad previously held the portfolio for sugarcane.
The Nitish Kumar administration came under fire from all quarters after Kartik Kumar took the oath as a Cabinet Minister on August 16 despite the Danapur Sub-Divisional Court issuing a warrant against him.
The opposition party leaders criticized the State Government for designating a dishonest MLC as the minister of law. Neither Kartik Kumar Applied for anticipatory bail nor his whereabouts have been reported to the authorities.
Kartik Kumar is a close friend with the imprisoned Bahubali commander, Anant Singh of Mokama. He was chosen by the urban local body to represent the RJD in the Patna MLC seat a few months ago.
