Sudhir Chaudhary resigns from Zee News, plans to start his own venture

Sudhir Chaudhary, editor-in-chief and CEO of Zee Group’s hindi news channel ‘Zee News’, has resigned from his post. Dr. Subhash Chandra, Chairman of Essel Group and mentor of Zee Media Corporation Limited (ZMCL) has accepted the resignation. Dr. Subhas Chandra has also organized a farewell dinner for Sudhir Chaudhary on July 8 at the Constitution Club in Delhi.

Zee Media in a statement said, “It is formally informed that Sudhir Choudhary, CEO Cluster 1 has resigned from his services at Zee Media Corporation Limited with immediate effect. Since Sudhir has an inclination to start his own venture, Zee Media has accepted it with a heavy heart.”

Dr. Subhash Chandra said in an internal email that he met Sudhir Chaudhary twice in the last two days and tried to persuade him to stop. Subhash Chandra said in the email, “Since he plans to start his venture using his fan following, I did not want to get in the way of his progress.

Indian TV journalism veteran Sudhir Chaudhary is leaving after working for a decade. However, this was his second stint in the company. He was associated with Zee News during his early years, but joined Sahara Samay in 2003. He was also associated with India TV for some time. In 2012 he returned to Zee News, where he was hosting his show Daily News and Analysis (DNA), one of the highest rated shows on Hindi news channels.
