Students Hospitalized As Lightning Strikes In Jharkhand

On July 23, a lightning strike near a government school in the Bokaro district of Jharkhand caused injuries to about six pupils there, according to an official. According to the official, the event happened near Bandhdih Middle School in the district’s Jaridih block , right as classes were starting.

“When lightning hit close to the school’s perimeter, there were 250 pupils inside. Following the incident, at least 50 pupils voiced complaints about difficulties. Six pupils who were mildly injured were admitted to hospitals, according to Ujwal Kumar Soren, the Jaridih block development officer (BDO). Additionally, the official reported that two of the six pupils passed out following the strike and were sent to Bokaro General Hospital (BGH).

According to the BDO, the students who reported difficulties were examined at a local referral hospital. Except for four kids, who are currently receiving care at the referral hospital, all of the students were released, according to Soren. The deputy development commissioner (DDC), he continued, had visited the block to assess the situation.

Lalan Ravi Das, the in-charge of the Jaridih police station, stated that no one was seriously hurt in the event. For better care, two students were referred to Bokaro General Hospital.
