“Statement Smells Of Intolerance,” India slams the Islamic nations’ Organisation for its comments regarding J&K

Arindam Bagchi, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), stated in a statement that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OICstatement )’s on Jammu and Kashmir “reeks of prejudice.”
He added that Jammu and Kashmir is and will always be an essential and intrinsic component of India. According to him, “it presently reaps the fruits of socio-economic growth and development as a result of long-awaited improvements three years ago.”

However, he continued, “the OIC General Secretariat continues to release pronouncements on Jammu and Kashmir at the request of a notorious supporter of cross-border, regional, and worldwide terrorism and a serial violator of human rights.”
Such utterances, according to Bagchi, only show the OIC to be a group committed to a social goal “being pursued by terrorism.”

Earlier today, Islamic Nations group demanded that India should reverse its August 2019 decision.
On August 5, 2019, the Narendra Modi-led government divided the former state of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union territories and revoked the special status granted to it under Article 370.
