Having won her first ever championship in Singapore and third overall in 2022 after victories at the Swiss Open and the Korea Open, PV Sindhu defeated Wang Zhi Yi 21-9, 11-21, 21-15. She finished the first game, which included 13 straight points won, in 12 minutes. But after she won the second game, Wang Zhi came back valiantly to tie the game. The decider got off to a suspenseful start until she took a five-point advantage into halftime. The Chinese attempted a comeback but ultimately ended short.
As soon as she won the title, greetings from all over India started knocking her doors. The two time Olympics Silver Medallist has been in a good form for a while now and she will try to make best out of it in the upcoming events. With the likes of COMMONWEALTH GAMES on the cards, Sindhu will be eyeing at another successful run as this victory against one of the best in the business (China) would definitely boost her confidence and will take her to new heights in her career.
