Restore Of Staff Salaries To Pre COVID Times From 1st September : Air India

According to Information, the letter says that, Air India would restore the salary that was cut due to the coronavirus epidemic beginning on September 1.

The airline, which is operating at a loss since Tatas purchased it in January of this year, also made the decision to alter the crew lunch and layover allowances as effective from 1st September.

In a letter to the staff, Campbell Wilson, CEO and Managing Director of Air India, said that the firm “will be restoring the wage decrease for all employees with effect from September 1, 2022”.

The “sunsetting most of the COVID initiatives is an important and welcome milestone”, he said, adding that there is still more to be done before the airline can start to turn a profit once more.

The coronavirus epidemic had caused significant harm to the aviation industry, therefore in order to control their finances, the operators went to cost-cutting tactics like reducing compensation.
