Indian Railways has announced that the number of online tickets that can be booked per user ID via the IRCTC website and app would be doubled.
To make it easier for customers, Indian Railways has decided to increase the maximum number of tickets that may be booked by a user ID that is not linked to Aadhaar from six to twelve every month.
The limit for booking the number of tickets per user ID that is linked to Aadhaar has been enhanced to 24 tickets per month from the previous maximum of 12 tickets per month.
This category requires that the user ID be connected to Aadhaar and that one of the passengers on the ticket be verified through Aadhaar.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Railways, a user ID that is not Aadhaar linked can book a maximum of six tickets per month on the IRCTC website/app, and a user ID that is Aadhaar linked and that one of the passengers in the ticket to be booked is verifiable through Aadhaar can book a maximum of 12 tickets per month.
