According to information, on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi utilised the video conferencing to herald the sailing of the MV Ganga Vilas, the world’s longest river cruise, as well as the opening of Tent City in Varanasi. At the occasion, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi also laid the foundation stones for several other inland waterways projects for a combined total of more than one billion rupees.
Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav and Himanta Biswa Sarma the Chief Minster of Assam as well as other ministers and senior officials from other ministries and departments, Sarbananda Sonowal, the Minister of shipping and waterways and ports were present.Â
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also stated that, the launch of biggest and longest river cruise service on river Ganga is a historic event that will usher in the upcoming era of tourism in India. Tejashwi Yadav, Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister also assured Modi that the state would do all possible to ensure the welfare of the visitors travelling on board the MV Ganga Vilas.
He stated that the tourists would receive the following while on the river cruise, which will make stops in Chhapra, Patna, Kahalgon, Buxar, Sultanganj and Munger and also told that, a traditional welcome will be done when tourists arrive and will be taken to historical places also.
