According to reports, officials have stated that, one person was killed and the other four people have been injured in a knife assault in a shopping centre outside of Milan, including Spanish player Pablo Mari.
The event occurred in Assago, a town outside of Milan. A 46 year old Italian man who seemed to have psychological issues was immediately taken into custody. He allegedly grabbed a knife off a shelf and started randomly attacking individuals.
They said that, the victim, who was 30 years old, worked at the Carrefour shop, which is located inside the mall where the attack occurred. The officials further told that, four other persons were injured severely.
One of those hurt was Pablo Mari, a Spanish defender playing for Monza on loan from Arsenal. According to a source close to the club, he was cognizant and capable of speaking while in the hospital.
Chief executive of Monza, Adriano Galliani said on behalf of the team that : “We are all very close to you and your family, Pablo. We send our best wishes your way. Continue battling as best you can. You are a fighter, and you will recover quickly”.
