Nupur Sharma should go on TV and apologize to the whole country: SC

Former Bharatiya Janata Party spokesperson Nupur Sharma has moved the Supreme Court on Friday. Sharma has demanded transfer of the ongoing cases against him to different states. At present, the hearing of the petition is going on in the court. Sharma is facing investigation for his controversial remarks on Prophet Mohammad during a TV debate. The BJP had also suspended him from the party.

The court has taken a strong stand against Sharma. While hearing the petition, the court has said that she has threatened the security of the nation. It was said that due to her statement there has been unrest in the whole country. Senior advocate Maninder Singh, appearing for Sharma, said that she has apologized for his statements and has also withdrawn them. On this, the court said that he should go on TV and apologize to the whole country.

According to news agency ANI, Sharma wants to transfer the FIRs registered against him in several states to Delhi. She has filed a petition in the Supreme Court with this demand. During this, the former BJP spokesperson informed that she is constantly receiving death threats. Due to the controversial remarks on the Prophet, there was a lot of uproar in many parts of the country.
