Nitin Gadkari and Shivraj Singh Chauhan removed from BJP’s parliamentary board

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), organization’s highest decision-making body, expelled Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan from its parliamentary board on Wednesday.

The parliamentary board of the party now includes former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, Union minister Sarbananda Sonowal, former IPS officer Iqbal Singh Lalpura, former Lok Sabha member Satyanarayan Jatiya, president of the BJP National OBC Morcha K Lakshman, and national secretary Sudha Yadav.

The board also includes the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, J P Nadda, the head of the BJP, and Union Ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh.
The BJP’s desire to increase the socioeconomic and geographic diversity of its parliamentary board is evident in the shuffle. Lalpura is the first member of a minority group from the Sikh community to be elected to the party’s parliamentary board.

Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, Bhupender Yadav, Om Mathur, and the head of the party’s women’s wing Vanathi Srinivasan have all been appointed to the party’s Central Election Committee (CEC). Jual Oran and former Union minister Shahnawaz Hussain have been removed from the list. The CEC includes every member of the parliamentary board.
