According to information, New York Police has said that, A 19 year old aged boy has been accused of assault and attempt of murder after using a machete to attack policemen in Manhattan.
After reportedly beating three police officers just beyond the Times Square security fence, where a large crowd of New Yorker gathered, Trevor Bickford was charged. The perpetrator punched two cops in the head, but did not significantly damage them.
But before another Police officer shot him in the shoulder with his duty weapon. The New York Police Department further stated that, Trevor Bickford is from the little coastal town of Wells in Maine without revealing any additional information.
As per the officials, Trevor Bickford recently displayed signs of radicalization toward Islam and may have planned to commit suicide. According to the reports, he was holding a journal in which he declared his intention to ally with the Afghan Taliban and die a martyr.
Further, the FBI questioned him in the mid of December after learning about his support for jihad from one of his cousins. An FBI counterintelligence unit is conducting the investigation as stated by Keechant Sewell, the commissioner of the New York Police Department.
