The wipro chairman Rishad Premji has fired 300 of its staffs who were doing moonlighting for its rivals. This news has raised a major concern for companies in India and their future.
What is Moonlighting?
Moonlighting means taking up a second job or multiple other than the primary job doing for a company. The practice of working for other companies/organisations while already being committed to one without their knowledge is known as moonlighting.
Why employees own such practices?
The employees of a company get involved in moonlighting either they are not satisfied with the pay they get or they are bribed to do so, for leaking secret informations or benefiting the rivals.
How moonlighting is dangerous for a company/organisation?
* Employees will get salary from primary company but they will secretly work for its rival.
* All ideas, informations, planning and secrets of a company will be leaked.
* Moonlighting may spoil the whole working culture of a company, its development will get ceased and it may demolish soon.
* Moonlighting by staffs of company is like a crime in itself.
The government and all companies should take moonlighting as a serious issue to protect the working culture among all sectors. Moonlighting should be considered as a crime otherwise one day it may hammer the whole system and so the nation.
