Man From Kerala Dies Of Monkey Pox

The state’s health minister reported that a guy from Kerala who had just returned from the UAE had tested positive for monkeypox. He passed away on Saturday. Minister Veena George stated that because the patient was young and had no other illnesses or health issues, the health department was investigating the cause of his passing.

The Minister stated that 20 people who were deemed to be at high risk are kept under observation in accordance with protocol. Family, friends, and medical personnel who may have interacted with the victim are being watched. The state government released standard operating procedures (SOP) for isolation, sample collection, and treatment of persons sick or exhibiting symptoms of the disease earlier this month as a preventative step.

The District Surveillance Officer (DSO) should be notified right away in accordance with the Health department’s SOP, which specifies that suspected and probable cases of monkeypox should be treated separately and in isolation. Monkeypox is a rare but potentially dangerous viral virus that was first identified in a case on July 14 in the Kollam region of south Kerala. Fever, rash, and swollen lymph nodes are the classic symptoms of monkeypox, which can also result in a variety of medical consequences. The condition often has a two- to four-week symptom duration and is self-limited.
