Jhulan Goswami, the Chakda Express to retire from International cricket at Lord’s

Jhulan Goswami, also known as the Chakda Express is going to retire from International cricket on 24th september,2022 at Lord’s. There is on ongoing 3-match ODI series between India and England in which India lead by 2-0. The last ODI of the series will be played at Lord’s when we all will witness Goswami in blue jersey for one last time. Our women’s team has already scripted history by defeating England in an ODI series on english soil after 23 years.

Test: January 14,2002 -Vs England

ODI: January 6,2002 – Vs England

T20I: August 5,2006 – Vs England


Jhulan Goswami is the highest wicket taker in women’s cricket international. She is a right-arm medium fast bowler performing magical moments for her fans and cricket world. At the age of 19 years, she made her International debut in 2002 in a one-day International match against England in Chennai. She has also captained India from 2007 to 2011. She is currently only playing ODIs and has already taken retirement from Test and T20Is cricket in 2021 vs Australia and 2018 vs Bangladesh respectively.

In her more than 20 years of international career, Jhulan has taken Indian cricket to many glories and created proud moments. Jhulan has won ICC women’s player of the year award(2007), MA Chidambaran trophy for best women’s cricketer(2011), Postal stamps(2018), Arjun award(2010) and Padma Shri(2012).
