“Inevitable Chemicals”: Abundant Chemicals in Rainwater Crossed Safety Levels

According to the new research shows that rainwater in most locations on Earth contains excess levels of chemicals that “greatly exceed” safety levels.

The synthetic substances called PFAS which are used in non-stick pans, fire-fighting foam and water-repellent clothes. they may contaminate for years in the environment.

As per the scientist they are “There is no safe space on Earth to avoid them”. Researchers from Stockholm University says it is vitally important that the use of the substances is vastly restricted.

They needed:

  • More research needed on the ongoing climate extinction changes.
  • A race in the hope of replacing persistent chemicals in our homes.

Scientist fears about the PFAS may pose health risks including Cancer, even though the research has to be far been inconclusive so they can’t state such statements. Scientists also given their best by growing their concern about the proliferation of PFAS in recent years.

PFAS stands for poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances.

These substances has more than 4500 fluorine-based compounds and they are found almost in every possible on Earth. These substances are used in the manufacturing of food packaging, non-stick cookware, rain resistant gears, paper and paints.

The major call out is about the raising risk above the safety levels of the substances staying in the drinking water. Which looks at four specific chemicals in the class, suggests that levels of one PFAS in rainwater around the globe often.
