Governor Of Texas Appoints An Indian American As Board Of Director

Arun Agarwal, an Indian-American philanthropist and the CEO of a Dallas-based textiles company, has been appointed by Texas Governor Greg Abbott to the board of directors of the Texas Economic Development Corporation (TxEDC).

Agarwal was selected by Governor Abbott, alongside eight other Texas executives, to promote the state on a national and international level in order to attract businesses and generate new jobs.

Greg Abbott gave an statement that “Their efforts will be instrumental in amplifying the success of TxEDC in promoting Texas as a premier business destination”.

“Agarwal also has commercial interests in real estate and cotton trade in addition to textiles. Additionally, he serves on the boards of the MD Anderson Board of Visitors, Texas Tech Innovation HUB at Research Park, Big Brothers Big Sisters International, the US-India Friendship Council, and the Executive Board of UT Dallas”.

He also serves as a volunteer for the Living Dreams Foundation and the non-profit organisation Chetna, which aids victims of domestic violence.

As per Reports, Agarwal holds a Master of Business Administration degree from IMT – Ghaziabad, a Master of Computer Information Systems degree from Southern New Hampshire University, and an Harvard University Advance Certificate in International Business.

Agarwal said “This is a tremendous honour for the Indian-American diaspora in the United States and also who serves as the India American CEO Council and president of the Dallas Parks and Recreation Board”.
