According to Sources, P.T. Usha proposal to the Upper House, together with that of singer Ilaiyaraaja Vijayendra Prasad, philanthropist Veerendra Heggade, and filmmaker K.V. She took the oath in Hindi.
P.T. Usha, one of India’s most well-known athletes, was born in “Kozhikode, a small town in the state of Kerala. She has acted as an inspiration and role model for tens of thousands of young girls around the country who wished to pursue a career in athletics, particularly track and field competitions”.
She earned the name “Payyoli Express” after competing for her country and winning gold at numerous international sports events, including the Asian Games, the Asian Championships, and the Junior World Invitational Meet. She has broken and established a number of Asian and national records during the course of her career.
She almost missed winning India’s first track and field medal at the 1984 Olympics in the women’s 400-meter hurdles, when she placed fourth and lost the bronze medal by 1/100 of a second.
She started the Usha School of Athletics when she retired to give gifted kids access to world-class facilities.
Usha, who has received both the “Arjuna award and the Padma Shri”, was greeted enthusiastically by the Delhi BJP on Monday at the airport.
She was greeted at the airport by a BJP delegation led by Vice-President of the Delhi Unit Virendra Sachdeva and Lok Sabha Member Manoj Tiwari.
