After a nine-year legal battle, the Supertech twin buildings in Noida will be torn down on Sunday (August 28). The Emerald Court project by Supertech Ltd, which includes the Ceyane (29 floors) and Apex (32 floors) towers, was found to violate many building regulations.
The Noida-Greater Noida Expressway will be blocked from 2.15 to 2.45 p.m. in order to finish the demolition campaign, which will start at 2.30 p.m. However, a requirement for the same is the normalisation of the situation on the ground. Noida police would work to limit traffic flow for only 30 minutes in order to increase commuter convenience.
Number of Units Twin Tower have :
The towers, which comprise roughly 850 units, are located in Sector 93A next to the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and are approximately 100 metres tall and taller than the Qutub Minar. From charging the structures to clearing the area, all the preparations have been made.
All residents of ATS Greens Village and Emerald Court will have left the neighbourhood by early Sunday morning. The police estimate that Emerald Court has 15 buildings, whereas ATS village has roughly 25 towers and four villas.
How many Kilograms of Explosives Planed in the Tower :
The destruction of the Supertech towers will take place through a “controlled implosion”, in which the building will collapse after explosives have been strategically placed and detonated to prevent collateral damage. 3,700 kg of explosives have been put into the two towers. In Apex, there are seven subsidiary blast floors with 60% of the columns being blown and 11 major explosion floors with explosives in every column.
In Ceyane, there are ten primary blast floors. Edifice Engineering, located in Mumbai, has partnered with South Africa’s Jet, the same company that demolished the Maradu buildings, to bring down the Supertech towers.
