Fire Kills 8 People In Russian Apartment

According to authorities, a fire alarm malfunctioned overnight in a 15-story building in Moscow, causing an eight-person death toll. An organisation looking into criminal activity said the building in a southeast district was the source of the fire, and it added that four individuals were hospitalised.

More than 200 people were evacuated after the fire, which started on the building’s ground floor, was put out shortly after midnight, according to emergency officials. According to a top emergency official, a hostel’s fire alarm malfunctioned, trapping everyone inside because all the windows had metal bars.

Russian buildings frequently experience fires and gas leaks, which are attributed to incompetence, subpar infrastructure, and inadequate maintenance. So, a criminal negligence case has been opened.
