SpaceX’s Starship will be ready for its first orbital flight in July: Elon Musk

Elon Musk, the founder and CEO of SpaceX, stated in a tweet on Tuesday that the Starship vehicle will be ready for orbital flight next month. In answer to a question on Starship’s orbital journey, Musk stated.

“I was in the high bay and mega bay late last night reviewing progress,”

“We’ll have a second Starship stack ready to fly in August,” Musk added.

Starship is made up of two parts: a massive first-stage booster known as Super Heavy and a 165-foot-tall (50-meter) upper-stage spacecraft termed as Starship. The vehicle is being developed by SpaceX to transport people and goods to the moon, Mars, and other locations throughout the solar system.

Starbase, the company’s South Texas location near the community of Boca Chica, has undertaken a number of high-altitude test flights with Starship upper-stage prototypes. It’s also getting ready for the transportation system’s first orbital test flight, which Elon Musk, SpaceX’s founder and CEO, has said might happen shortly.

The next-generation engine that will power Starship, Raptors, is being built and tested in large part as part of this preparation. According to Musk, each Super Heavy booster will contain 33 Raptors and each Starship spaceship would have six Raptors.

If Starship’s test campaign goes well, the vehicle might travel a great distance in the next few years. For NASA’s Artemis mission, which seeks to put boots on the moon in 2025 or 2026, Starship was chosen as the first crewed lunar lander. Musk has expressed faith that Starship will be able to launch people to Mars in the same approximate time frame, despite his proclivity for setting very aggressive targets for his businesses.
