According to Information, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.2 rocked the capital of Uttar Pradesh in the early hours of Saturday, sending vibrations as far away as Lucknow. The National Center for Seismology states that the earthquake took place on Saturday at 1.12 am.
The earthquake happened 82 kilometres below the earth’s surface. Northeastern part of the city had hit hard.
A 5.2-magnitude earthquake was recorded on August 20, 2022 at a Latitude of 28.07 and Longitude of 81.25, at a depth of 82 km, and 139 kilometres NorthEast of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, according to the earthquake monitoring organisation.
Pithoragarh, in the state of Uttarakhand, recently felt some light tremors after being hit by an earthquake with a value of 3.6 on the Richter Scale. At 1:55 PM, there was a tremor.
The NCS reported that a 3.1-magnitude earthquake in Jammu and Kashmir also impacted the south-southwest corner of the Hanley village. Himachal Pradesh’s Kinnaur district was shaken by an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.1.
