Delhi Pollution : Ban On Entry Of Trucks Lifted And Primary Schools To Reopen From November 9th

According to reports, as the Delhi’s pollution crisis are coming down, Gopal Rai, the city’s environment Minister, announced today that the majority of the city’s capital’s pollution related restrictions has been lifted on Monday.

The minister’s declaration that the prohibition on trucks into Delhi will be lifted was one of the major occurrences. The orders for working at home have ended, the minister continued, and the offices will be fully operational. In addition, construction on roads, flyovers, overbridges, pipelines, and as well as power transmission was once again permitted.

Gopal Rai also declared that on November 9 primary schools will open and public events would start. The Centre’s air quality panel ordered the lifting of the Graded Response Action Plan’s final ban on trucks entering the city and the usage of non-BS VI gasoline light motor vehicles in Delhi NCR. The restrictions were put into effect four days ago. As part of anti pollution measures under stage IV of GRAP on Thursday.

The Commission of Air Quality Management directed officials to impose a ban on trucks entering the national capital in addition to the operation of non BS VI diesel light motor vehicles within the city and surrounding NCR districts as Delhi’s air quality index soared to 450, just one tiny little bit short of the “severe plus” category.

In reaction to the extreme pollution, the Delhi government announced further measures. These included the closure of elementary schools starting and the adoption of work from home regulations for 50% of its staff. On Sunday, the air quality in the nation’s capital somewhat improved, which led the CAQM to direct officials to lift the restrictions. The Delhi government must choose whether to lift the restriction on remote work and reopen the primary schools.
