Days After Kim Jong Un Announced Covid Victory, North Korea Lifts Mask Mandatory

According to Reports, North Korea has eliminated a mask requirement and loosened other virus restrictions days after leader Kim Jong Un hailed “success” on COVID-19.

Following Pyongyang’s earlier this week charge of Seoul for the COVID-19 breakout in the North and vow to “wipe out” the South Korean administration if necessary, the proclamation was made.

As “the country’s public health crisis were totally defused and its entire territory was transformed into a pure one free from the dangerous virus in the short period of time,” restrictions on the transmission of viruses were lifted.

The necessity for mask wear was removed everywhere with the exception of frontline and border cities and counties after the entire country was declared a “epidemic-free zone”.

Earlier this week, North Korea announced a “shining victory” over Covid, just a few months after disclosing its first instances in May. With the exception of border zones, disparities and other anti-virus measures were also abandoned.

But individuals who experienced respiratory sickness symptoms were encouraged to wear masks, and North Koreans were warned to “be cautious” against “strange things”, ostensibly relating to propaganda materials from the South.

Out of over 4.8 million “fever” incidents since late April, North Korea has recorded 74 fatalities, only a small number of them have been determined to be Covid. Despite perhaps obtaining some vaccinations from China, it is believed that none of its 26 million residents have received any vaccinations.
