A nine-year-old Dalit child from Rajasthan passed away on Saturday after being allegedly assaulted by his teacher for consuming water from a pot set aside for the teacher. According to police officials, the teacher was detained by the police and has been accused of homicide.
On July 20, the incident happened at a private school in Sayla Village, Jalore District. The infant was transported to Ahmedabad, which is around 300 miles distant, for treatment after suffering eye and ear injuries. Police officers reported that the kid passed away yesterday while receiving medical care.
While expressing his sorrow over the event, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said he had ordered officials to conduct a quick probe. “As soon as possible, the victim’s family will receive justice. The Chief Minister’s Relief Fund would provide the family with support in the sum of 5 lakh ” he Tweeted .
