Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge Seeks Time From President Droupadi Murmu On Behalf Of Oppostion Parties For Manipur Issue

According to information,Ā theĀ Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge has spoke with President Droupadi Murmu to arrange a conference to discuss aboutĀ the Manipur issue. They continued by saying that the President has not yet granted him any time.

The opposition parties have been calling for an in-depth conversation on the events in Manipur in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha along with theĀ statement by the Prime Minister in theĀ Parliament.

They further stated that,Ā violence in the BJP run state in northeast, itĀ is still ongoing and that many people have died as a result, and they are now asking the President to intervene.

After visiting the state that has seen ethnic unrest, a group of 21 opposition MPs briefed the leaders of the INDIA coalition on the situation there. The party visited the places that had been affected and chatted with locals in both the valley and the camps set up in the hills.

As a member of the opposition delegation, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the leader of the Congress party in the Lok Sabha, hasĀ visited Manipur and referred to the situation there as “grave.”
