The Bundelkhand Expressway was launched on Saturday in the Uttar Pradesh district of Jalaun by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“The development of the Bundelkhand region is demonstrated through the Bundelkhand Expressway in real time. Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, said it will give the area a new identity and serve as a route for industrial investments.
The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority built the 296-kilometer-long, four-lane Bundelkhand Expressway for about 14 850 crore rupees. The prime minister laid the expressway’s foundation stone in February 2020, and it took 28 months to finish.
5 things you should know about the 296-km Expressway
1. From four lanes it has the capacity to extend upto six lanes in future.
2. It stretches from NH-35 near Gonda village in the Chitrakoot district to close to Kudrail village in the Etawah district, where it connects with the Agra-Lucknow expressway
3. Seven districts—Chitrakoot, Banda, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Jalaun, Auraiya, and Etawah—will be traversed by the expressway.
4. The construction of an industrial corridor alongside the road has already started in the Banda and Jalaun districts.
5. The expressway is expected to significantly improve the region’s connectivity and industrial growth, leading to the creation of thousands of employment for the local population.
“The cutting-edge Bundelkhand Expressway travels across seven districts. The local economy will gain a lot as a result. The region will experience significant industrial growth, which will increase job prospects for young people in the area,” the prime minister tweeted on Friday.
