As per Sources, he installation and setting of the explosives that would be used to bring down the 40-story Noida twin buildings got underway this morning. The skyscrapers, which were being built by the real estate firm Supertech, will be destroyed on August 28. The explosives were witnessed being transported there by many vans this morning.
The Super Power 90 will transport explosives weighing 325 kg that are fastened to the twin buildings, the source claims (25X200mm). It will have 10,990 non-electric detonators, 63,300 metres of solar cord, and four electronic detonators.
The two skyscrapers’ explosive rigging has been allowed by the Supreme Court. The highest court agreed to Noida Authority’s request to push out the demolition from the originally scheduled date of August 21 to August 28.
The twin structures are slated for demolition because they have serious code breaches. The Supreme Court ruled that Supertech and the Noida Authority had engaged in “nefarious collusion,” and it mandated that the company dismantle the structure at its own expense while being guided by the Noida Authority and a knowledgeable organisation like the Central Building Research Institute.
The verdict was rendered in response to many petitions filed by homeowners in support of and opposition to the Allahabad High Court’s order from April 11, 2014, which required the destruction of the two towers within four months and the repayment of apartment buyers’ money.
The Supreme Court has ruled that August 28 may be formally certified as the date of destruction, with a “window of seven days” from August 29 and September 4 to account for any minor delays brought on by bad weather or technical difficulties.
