According to reports, as stated by the local police officials, children as small as 2 years old were among the people killed in the fatal shooting rampage that occurred at a daycare centre in Thailand on Thursday.
As per the Superintendent of the Na Klang police station, Chakkraphat Wichitvaidya, the gunman was fired from the force last year. When the shooter arrived at the daycare facility and learned that his child was not there, he became furious.
The Police said that, an enraged him shot at bystanders and ran his car over them. After getting home, the shooter shot his wife and kid before turning the gun on himself.
The massacre killed the lives of at least 34 people, including 22 children. Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha described the incident as “terrible” and offered his condolences to the families of the victims. He also ordered everyone to treat the injured as soon as possible.
They further stated that, there is a chance that the shooter was intoxicated. The Police officials also added that, the former Police who opened fire was dismissed from the force for drug abuse.
