American Woman Arrested For Calling 911 For Abusing Police Officers

According to a source, a woman in Florida has been detained after dialling 12,512 police precincts in a single year. According to the criminal complaint lodged against Carla Jefferson, 51, she “harasses, belittles, shouts at, and argue[s] with]” whoever answers her calls to the non-emergency lines of the St. Petersburg Police Department and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.

According to police officials, her calls make up 10% of the incoming traffic at the St. Petersburg Police department. Ms. Jefferson contacted the police 512 times in a 24-hour period last month. According to a source, the police categorised these calls as “vulgar, threatening, or obscene” in their affidavit submitted to a court.

“She doesn’t contact to request the assistance of the police. She calls solely to annoy, curse, and belittle the call takers. Her calls are kind of getting in the way of our capacity to respond to regular people who need police assistance right now “Yolanda Fernandez, a police spokesperson, told the source. In a letter to Ms. Jefferson in June, the police threatened to have her arrested if she didn’t give the receiver some time to relax.
