A virtual space tech park called “SPARK” was presented by the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) on Wednesday as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav festivities honouring India’s 75th year of independence.
The virtual space museum, which was established by ISRO Chairman S. Somanath, has a number of papers, photographs, and films pertaining to satellites, launchers, research missions, and pioneers in India’s space industry.
SPARK is the first-ever 3D virtual space technology park created by ISRO. It offers a variety of encounters, such as a museum, a theatre, an observatory, a garden with life-size rockets, a lakeside dining area, and a kids’ play area.
The website’s top left corner provides links to visit the various park sections, such as the museum, theatre, or lobby. Visitors may use the application’s specific arrows to explore, and there are also options to zoom in and out for a 360° immersive experience.
One may browse the virtual facility located inside the main museum building to examine many exhibitions on the accomplishments, satellites, and launch vehicles of ISRO.
The park’s many exhibits offer details on famous researchers who have contributed significantly to ISRO over the years. Among those mentioned in the space park are Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha, Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Prof. Raja Ramanna, Prof. Yash Pal, Prof. MGK Menon, and Prof. Satish Dhawan.
The visitor is given thorough explanations of the numerous satellite programmes run by ISRO, as well as photographs, films, and papers pertaining to various launch vehicles.
A bus named “Space on Wheels” is parked next to a massive sundial in the park’s open space. It provides details on the many outreach initiatives of ISRO.
