The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) announced on Thursday that an Air India flight headed from Dubai to Cochin was diverted to Mumbai following a report of low cabin pressure.
“Air India Boeing Fleet B787 Flight No. AI-934 experienced a low pressure event, which was reported” (Dubai-Cochin). After being rerouted to Mumbai, the plane made a successful landing. A preliminary investigation would be conducted by two senior officials of O/o DAS WR, according to the DGCA. This is the third time in the past week that an Air India flight has encountered a hitch. A burning odour in the cabin caused Air India Express’s Calicut-Dubai flight to be diverted to Muscat earlier on July 17. According to officials, the vent in the forward galley and pilots was where the burning stench was coming from.

On July 15, a live bird was discovered in the cockpit of an Air India Express flight between Bahrain and Kochi. Over the past month, numerous technical issues have been recorded in planes operated by Indian carriers. On Wednesday, a Go First flight headed from Delhi to Guwahati experienced a windshield break in midair, forcing a detour to Jaipur. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation grounded two Go First A320neos on Tuesday. This happened after engine problems on the airline’s flights from Mumbai to Leh and Srinagar to Delhi.
