After Jumping Into Delhi Metro Track, Old Man Dead As Trains Enters The Metro Station

Acoording to sources, A 65-year-old man is said to have died today at the Tilak Nagar station after he allegedly jumped in front of a speeding Delhi Metro train.

After being sent to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, the victim was allegedly declared “brought dead” based on statement by  a senior police officer. He was identified by the policeman as Satish Malhotra, a resident of Tilak Nagar.

His son-in-law, who provided the victim’s identity, said that Malhotra was sad as a result of economic losses sustained during the COVID-19 epidemic and owned a spare parts store in Karol Bagh. The event caused delays for Blue Line services on the Delhi Metro.

The Blue Line runs from Noida City Center to Dwarka Sector 21 in Delhi, with a branch line running from Yamuna Bank to Vaishali. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) also sent a statement informing passengers of the delay.

“Blue Line Update also stated that, Train between Dwarka Sector 21 and Noida Electronic City/Vaishali have been delayed due to a passenger on the track at Tilak Nagar. Usual service is available on all other line”.
