The action taken against his own minister by the Bhagwant Mann government of Punjab has brought Arvind Kejriwal’s statement to the fore. CM Kejriwal praised Bhagwant Mann’s initiative, saying, “We are proud of Bhagwant Mann.” He went on to say that the Aam Aadmi Party has proven that it will not abandon the country even if its neck is severed.
CM Kejriwal further said that no one was aware of the corruption. Neither the opposition nor the media were aware. Bhagwant Mann may have petitioned the minister for his share by forming a company. It had been like this up until now. Mann could have kept the information hidden if he had wanted to. However, he did not do so. He took action against his minister himself. Punjab and the entire country are proud of you, Bhagwant.
The Delhi CM continued, “When our Delhi government was constituted in 2015, I took similar measures against my food minister.” I had received evidence of his corruption. Nobody knew back then. I took action against him personally. The Aam Aadmi Party is a firmly honest political party. That is, if someone steals ours as well, we will not ignore him.
When it comes to the opposition, Kejriwal said that if they don’t know what to do, they should mention that they started corruption only two months after joining the government. However, this is the first government to take action against its own citizens. We will not betray each other or enable anyone else to do so. To do what we have done requires a great deal of courage. And God is the source of our courage.
Let me remind readers that Vijay Singla, a cabinet minister in the Punjab government, was dismissed on Tuesday. The Anti-Corruption Bureau began proceedings against Singla shortly after the Punjab government took action. On the orders of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the ACB detained Vijay Singla after filing a complaint.
Vijay Singla was accused of requesting a one percent commission on contracts from officials and of engaging in corruption. After receiving strong evidence that Vijay Singla was involved in corruption, CM Bhagwant Mann showed him the door out of his government.
