Israel Airstrike Knocks Out The Airport In Syria’s 2nd City Aleppo

According to information, the Defence Ministry has said that, the Israeli warplanes struck Aleppo Airport early on Tuesday morning, flights to and from Syria’s second city, which has been destroyed by war and disasters, were suspended.

The airport served as a major hub for relief flights, the transport ministry also stated that, after the earthquake that struck southeast Turkey and nearby Syria on February 6 and those flights have also ended.

The Syria’s defence ministry, the Israeli adversary struck Aleppo International Airport with such an airstrike from Mediterranean west of Latakia at precisely 2:07 a.m. (23:07 GMT). The ministry also told, due to the damage, the airport had to be shut to all flights. There was no official indication on any casualties.

The transport ministry Suleiman Khalil also said that, during the preceding month, more than 80 relief flights carrying supplies for villages impacted by the earthquake had landed in Aleppo. He believes that until the damage is repaired, receiving assistance flights is no longer possible. He further added, the runway had become inaccessible due to the strike.

Deliveries of aid have been diverted to the airports in Damascus and Latakia, as per the statement from the ministry. An Israeli military officials also failed to respond to questions about the reported strike. Since a catastrophic earthquake that had killed more than 50,000 people in Syria and Turkey, Israel has launched two attacks on government controlled territory.
