An Another Earthquake 4.7 Magnitude Strikes Turkey A Week After An Massive Tremors That Killed 33,000 People

According to information, the United States Geological Survey officilas have said that, an earthquake of magnitude 4.7 rocked Turkey’s southern metropolis a week after severe tremors killed 33,000 people (USGS).

As stated by the USGS, the earthquake had an impact on the city of Kahramanmaras, that was the epicentre of the first 7.8 magnitude tremor last Monday. This time it was  4.7 magnitude, 24 kilometres southeast of Turkey’s Kahramanmaras. USGS data shows that, “Time – 00:03, Location – 37.390°N 37.048°E, Depth – 15.7”.

An Massive 7.8 magnitude earthquakes that struck Turkey and Syria a week ago killed more than 33,000 people and injured tens of thousands more. While there have been 4,574 confirmed deaths in Syria, 29,605 people have died in Turkey.

Kahramanmaras sustained some of the heaviest damage as a result of the earthquake’s epicentre being halfway between that city and the Gaziantep, where large city blocks were in ruins.

8,294 overseas rescuers and as well as more than 32,000 members of Turkish institutions have aided in search and rescue efforts over the course of the past week, as stated by the Turkey’s Disaster Agencies.
