According to reports, Ashok Gehlot, the Chief Minister will meet Sonia Gandhi, the interim Congress President, today in Delhi. This comes as Gehlot’s decision to carry out his original plan and present his nomination for the position of Congress president.
On Sunday night, after a political spectacle erupted after 82 MLAs delivered the assembly’s speaker their resignation papers. The MLAs who resigned drew out a three-point manifesto opposing selecting Sachin Pilot as the nation’s next Chief Minister if Gehlot wins the Congress presidential candidacy.
A Chief Minister must be chosen from among the 102 MLAs who backed the Congress party in June 2020, during the attempt takeover of the government, as part of one of their demands. The MLAs in the Gehlot camp also told the party’s senior leadership that talks about a prospective leadership transition in Rajasthan should be postponed until a new Congress President has been appointed.
Thirdly, it’s crucial to evaluate Ashok Gehlot’s choice. Due to the altercation between Gehlot’s followers and the Congress leadership, the party high command asked its party observers Mallikarjun Kharge and Ajay Maken for a statement.
The experts, however, stated in their report to Sonia Gandhi that Gehloti was not responsible for the state’s problem but that they needed to punish influential persons for holding a competing conference. Among the cabinet officials from the Gehlot camp accused of organising the parallel conference in an effort to undermine the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting were Shanti Dhariwal, Mahesh Joshi, and MLA Dharmendra Rathode.
Mallikarjun Khadge and Ajay Maken, two party observers, were scheduled to attend the parliamentary meeting, which was called at the invitation of the party president.
