Longest Reigning British Monarch, Queen Elizabeth II Passes Away At 96

Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning monarch in British history, passed away at the age of 96. She was beloved by generations of Britons for her adherence to royal tradition and her ability to maintain composure in the face of personal scandals.

Her physicians had been “concerned about Her Majesty’s health,” according to a statement released by Buckingham Palace on Thursday.

Additionally, she had to cancel a number of public appearances, including a few this summer honouring her historic 70-year reign.

The Queen has four children, eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, many of whom rushed to be at her side when her health deteriorated while she was at her Scottish home, Balmoral.

The Queen is well known for her bright hats and adored Corgis, but, according to scholars, she will be remembered more for the simple fact that she managed to preserve the monarchical system into the twenty-first century.
