Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the lovely statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on Thursday in New Delhi in front of India Gate on September 8, 2022. Today, PM Modi will also formally open the Kartavya Path, a new walkway connecting Rashtrapati Bhavan and India Gate. The Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose statue required a team of sculptors 26,000 man-hours of “hard artistic endeavour,” as per the Culture Ministry.
The jet-black granite statue which is 28 foot height will be placed beneath the Canopy close to India Gate. The location of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s monument would be the same as where Prime Minister Modi honoured Netaji with a holographic statue previously this year on Parakram Diwas to mark his 125th birthday.
The enormous statue of Netaji was completely hand-sculpted utilising both traditional techniques and modern tools. The team leader of the sculptors that built the statue was Arun Yogiraj.
The traditional INA music Kadam Kadam Badhaye Jaa would be played to announce the unveiling of the statue of Netaji. The officials also stated that traditional Manipuri Shankh Vadayam and Kerala’s Panch Vadayam and Chanda will be played to announce PM Modi’s arrival at the canopy for the inauguration of the statue of Netaji.
It should be noted that a vehicle measuring 100 feet long and equipped with 140 wheels was necessary to go the 1,665 miles from Khammam in Telangana to New Delhi.
