Gold Coins Worth 60 Lakhs Stolen By Labourers

An official reported on Sunday that eight labourers are accused of stealing 86 gold coins worth around 60 lakh rupees that they discovered while tearing down an old home in the Dhar district of Madhya Pradesh.

The workers then shared the gold coins, known as “ginnis,” among themselves without telling the local police, which led to their detention, according to Additional Superintendent of Police Devendra Patidar. The gold coins may have archaeological significance.

He claimed that a few days ago, the workers were clearing the wreckage from an old house when they discovered the coins. The authorities learned that the eight labourers shared the cash among themselves thanks to a tip, he claimed. The Police arrested the workers and seized 86 coins which approximately weighed 1 kg.
