Rahul Dravid, the Indian team’s head coach, will be there for the team’s much anticipated Asia Cup opener against Pakistan in Dubai on Sunday after testing negative for COVID-19.
Coach Dravid, who had tested positive for the virus in a routine test before the squad left for the continental tournament, has totally recovered.
The BCCI named NCA chairman VVS Laxman as India’s temporary coach, but the former batting star didn’t fly with the squad after testing positive.
Dravid had been placed in home isolation ever since his August 23 test resulted up a positive result.
The Indian head coach experienced moderate symptoms, according to a statement issued earlier by BCCI secretary Jay Shah.
