According to Information, The Governor of Sinaloa stated that, Candida Cristal Vazquez, a radio host who has been missing since July, has been discovered dead.
Police in Mazatlan, a tourist destination on Mexico’s Pacific coast, found a body in a canal. Test findings would determine the body’s identity.
But, as per Luis Guillermo Benitez Torres, the town’s mayor, “everything indicates that it is Candida Cristal Vazquez.” Vazquez’s family reported her missing from the end of July.
The number of journalists killed this year, that is already the worst on records for the Mexican press, has increased with Vazquez’s demise.
In accordance with human rights organisation Article 19, columnist Fredid “Fredy” Roman was slain on Monday in the state of Guerrero, adding at least 18 other journalists who have died this year.
