The Karnataka state government will implement the National Education Policy, in pre-primary education across 20,000 schools from this November in Karnataka.
B.C Nagesh, Minister for Primary and Secondary Education and Halappa Achar, Minister for Child and Women Development jointly announced this on Thursday at a press conference.
We will be implementing it in a phased manner. In the first phase, it will be implemented at anganwadis across the state,” said Nagesh.
“The union Minister has appreciated our efforts,” he added.
Nagesh said that the government has taken up construction of 7,000 classrooms across the state and promised to ensure that there will be no shortage of teachers.
Anganwadi is run by the department of women welfare, while the primary and secondary will prepare the curriculum as per NEP
The NEP will be extended to primary and secondary education in the next phase.
