There were 12 Ukrainians wounded Saturday, including three children, after Russian forces attacked an apartment building and several homes in Voznesensk, near the nuclear plant.
Voznesensk is located at about 20 kms from the nuclear power plant at Pivdennoukrainsk, Ukraine’s second largest and 70 kms from Mykolaiv the Regional capital.
“According to preliminary information, 12 people including three children were injured. Two children are in a serious condition,” the prosecutor’s office said on Telegram.
Regional Governor of Mykolaiv Vitaly Kim, earlier said on Telegram that nine people were injured including children.
Nuclear power operator stated that it is another cynical attack of nuclear terrorism by Russia. He also said that it can’t be ruled out that this missile was fired in the direction of the Pivdennoukrainsk power station which the Russians already tried to seize in early March.
The strike hit several homes in the city which is home for 30000 people stated by emergency services on Facebook with a photo of badly damaged homes.
The region, at the forefront of the war, suffers regular strikes.
